Today we took the kids to Colorado Mills mall -- it's the only place where there is a Lego store in all of Colorado. Gus was desperate to spend his Christmas money on Bionicles. I forgot the diaper bag, in which I carry Purell and diaper wipes. So we had to have lunch at a gross Colo Mills non-clean table, and the baby was touching all sorts of things and then putting his hands in his mouth. Yucko. I'm a pretty laid-back parent about most things, but I really don't like my kids ingesting germs. So today's pattern reflects my issue of the day.
We're nearing the end of another year...my New Year's resolution (one of them) will be to post a pattern every day, and not do the back-filling trick I'm going to do today. I just won't tell anyone that I did a month's worth ahead of time.
This one is variations on a little branch from the BoughHouse tree drawings, exploring scale and positive/negative space with the same image. I think the last one would make nice sheets.
Don't worry, loyal readers (all two of you), the Pattern of the Day is going to be back. Between Christmas, other business issues, and being snowed in, I haven't posted a new pattern for over a week. However, I have been doing them (trust me on this) but haven't wanted to trek out to my scanner. So I will be posting a whole slew of patterns in the next day or two, and I'm going to back-date them. I haven't quite worked out this blogging thing.....apparently "real" bloggers do a lot of posts in one sitting for backup content, so if they get too busy during the week, they'll still have something fresh. I'll have to try that next time.
For now, I'll post today's pattern and then will start filling in the previous week's worth.
